Thank you !

Gospel Man 2008 is in the can... as of 12 days ago.
And Father we are most grateful to you for your goodness to us all.
My prayer is that we left loving our Lord and His gospel even more.

Thanks to the men and session of Faith Presbyterian Church, Bryan Chapell,  Joe Novenson,  Dan Wilson, Gary Yagel, Joe Laird, Heath McClure & the praying Samson Society boys, Joe Bucha, and Red Mounatin Music.

It was a gift to be a apart of this. Really, a wonderful gift to me and my wife Karen and one of my sons who was able to be there.
As to the future, we'll spend a few more weeks praying about whether we go forward.
Like any monster, it will need to be killed quickly or fed!

You can help if you'd like to both pray and/or send us any additional feedback at info@thegospelman.com . It would be especially valuable to hear from any men's leaders or pastors about your thoughts on the future.

We will have online a solution for you soon on making the content available to those of you who could not make it or are interested.

Probably about 50% of those attending filled out  evaluations and 98% (yes, that is a stat.) were positive and gracious. I look forward to sharing a few of those perhaps soon.

A great range, ya? We just need to beef up the younger men coming if we can... of course, job and school issues are no small obstacles to overcome.

So we go to prayer mode for a few weeks to see what the Lord would have us do next. Join us and in the interim as always may we enjoy so profound a salvation that Jesus has bled for and be about the business of nurturing men with such good news... say, who is your Timothy at the moment?

Conference detail items...

1) Dress - Casual or whatever you'd be comfortable in - one speaker said he may come in full regalia. I said of course... bring it on baby!

2) Breakfast - We are not providing breakfast.
    So here are your options:

   A) The breakfast buffet in the restaurant. They have been forewarned that a group of men may descend. Just don't assume that you can show up at 7:30 and get rushed through to be on time for the program start at 8:00am.

   B) McDonalds & Waffle House - .45 of a mile to Century Center entrance, turn LEFT towards I-85 and go a quarter mile.

   C) Popeyes & IHOP - .45 of a mile to Century Center entrance, turn LEFT towards I-85 and go a half mile.

3) Check-in: It is normally 3:00pm. If you get here by 1:00 or so, there might be some rooms available for early check-in - no promises. If you get here at the last minute, you'll have to do it between 5:30 and the dinner at 6:00pm. We'll post it here if that changes.

4) Check-out: Normal checkout is 12Noon. We have asked for a few extra minutes. It is important that we clear out of the ballroom at 12Noon to help the hotel. (There is a wedding later in the afternoon.)

Six Days To Go & Registration...

A most Blessed Easter Weekend good friends!

We're about six days away from the Atlanta 2008 Gospel Man Conference !

We have a few spots left due to cancellations. Email me if you are interested: info@thegospelman.com .

Our plan, Lord willing, is to begin registration at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center at 11:30am EST in front of the Century Ballroom. Enter the hotel lobby, bear to your left, go all the way down the hall, turn right, and you should see us there at the registration tables.
Our Gospel Man hosts will be around the hotel with gMan shirts on... feel free to ask them questions, and they'll be glad to help !

Please continue praying that we will be encouraged in the love of Jesus for men such as us (ok, I'll just speak for myself.)

We're Full ! Thank you !

Hi good brothers,
Today I need to say that we're officially full and closed.
We had planned to have 200 men and we'll be at 400.
There have been some amazing acts of God's provision in all this effort.

You need to know that there were a few men who have donated money to make this happen for all of us. The response of larger groups was so big relative to what was anticipated that we would not hit our numbers, and so a few men have stepped in to make this happen for all of us.
So do thank the Lord for these men and ask His blessings on them!

I am notifying a few men who are on the waiting list, BUT not everyone on the list now will get in. I'm so sorry about this. The hotel ballroom is just not big enough for all of us for dinner.
I doubt that this will change, but keep checking here to see if a miracle occurs.

Please PRAY for all the speakers, traveling, details, etc.

Registration Now Closed (Starting Waiting List!)

Due to the good response, we are having to suspend registrations today while we scurry around and see what our options are and if we can accomodate more men.

If you would like to join us, please email us and we will add you to the waiting list while we figure this out.
I estimate that this process will take us a week or so.

Almost Full !

It's been an exciting few weeks as we got to the end of early registration. We have surpassed our conference goals and have over 275 men coming and over 20 churches represented.

We are looking at either having to freeze our registrations at the conference or consider a "video-overflow" room for Friday night in order to have dinner for the men who want to be here.

If you have a group who wants to come, you need to contact me ASAP: info@thegospelman.com  !

If your being in a "video-overflow" room for Friday night...

(in other words, the music and speaking would be across the hall but you would be watching it in real time at a dinner table in the next room) is okay with you, then please let me know as well... if we have enough interest in this option, then we will consider doing it versus freezing registrations all together.

I am grateful to our Lord and you and our donors who are helping make all this possible.

Regular Registration Begins... Thanks !

Last night at midnight, early registration ended.
My deepest thanks to the men and churches that have signed up so far.
I will be posting some registration results next week on the website so that registrants can check their status.
At first pass at our early results, spacing is getting limited.

If you would like to be a part of this, you need to move quickly from here... especially if you want to bring a group.

Again, my thanks to you who have registered. I would appreciate your prayers as we work on all the conference details and for our speakers as they prepare.

May our God be honored in this conference, might we have the nurture of the Spirit among us, and as Bryan Chapell has said... may we know the love of the Father in the ministry of the Son more deeply that we indeed leave loving our Saviour more than when we came. In truth, it is our only hope.

Be surprised that He came for us once again this Christmas. I want to be.

Tom wrote in to suggest something be added to the webpage called "The Story"... a rough and quick FAQ of sort about the conference and initiative.

Tom suggested:
"In the below paragraph at the end of "The Story" you reference II Tim 2:2 which is a great verse.  I would like to suggest you add II Tim 2:1 - "You therefore my son be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus".

To me having this verse about grace just preceding 2:2 puts the central teaching in focus.  I would suggest that one of the key emphases of the conference is to address the relation between living a grace centered life motivating us to a walk of discipleship with Christ."
